Jasmine Crockett has announced she is running for Senate. What do you think, America? Today’s show breaks it down.
According to NBC:
Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, launched her run for Senate on Monday, shaking up the Democratic primary just before the state's filing deadline.
Crockett joins the race to take on GOP Sen. John Cornyn, who is facing multiple primary challengers himself. The two-term congresswoman’s decision also comes as her Dallas-based House seat was redrawn in a GOP-led redistricting effort.
"There are a lot of people that said, 'You gotta stay in the House. We need our voice. We need you there,'" Crockett told her supporters as she launched her campaign Monday night. "And I understand. But what we need is a bigger voice."
"Here is the thing I do appreciate about the left. When things just don’t work, and when someone is really done and something has run its course, they just keep doing it anyway. It’s like a kid that’s trying to jam in a puzzle piece that just does not fit," Crowder said. "They still decide to go down this path as some kind of civil rights icon.”
Crockett, with a slogan of "Texas Tough," pitched herself as the Democrat best-positioned to drive out turnout and appeal to disillusioned voters, saying she can build "a strong multi-racial, multi-generational coalition," and pledged to focus on addressing the cost of living and holding President Donald Trump accountable.
“She just keeps trying. She’s the little racist that could,” Crowder said. “She’s not even expected to win her own primary.”
According to Kalshi odds, she’s at 48 percent while James Talarico is at 52 percent.
“A part of me hopes she kind of wins. And I don’t mean that. But I want her to bring more ideas like this,” Crowder said, referring to her stance on why Black people should not have to pay taxes.
“I think that the left knows to some degree what is true, and they are going to lie to you anyway,” Crowder said. “There is nothing that is anywhere near as radical, let alone illogical, as the mainstream left. And they prop her up. I would talk with anyone because I really do think if someone is genuinely stupid, you guys would be able to sniff that out pretty quickly.”
