What's sad about this story is that the repeat offending felon who tried to get into this man's kids' bedroom, already being back out on the streets, isn't shocking. After all, he only has two priors. There are felons in America who have over twenty priors, yet are allowed back on the street to set innocent victims on fire. Such is life where they keep electing progressive politicians over and over again to enact progressive "justice" policies.
In this case, in Colorado, Kevin Root heard someone in their house and spotted an intruder, Charley Cooley, trying to get into his son's bedroom. He fought him off, the police arrived, and Cooley was arrested.
Shocking was finding a stranger breaking into your home. More shocking is finding out that stranger broke into someone else's home months earlier and was back out on the streets. Even more shocking is finding out that stranger with a prior who broke into your home is already back out on the streets.
According to the Denver District Attorney’s Office, a judge set bond at $5,000 property/surety or $500 cash, and Cooley posted $500 cash on Nov. 11, FOX 31 Denver reported.
"Multiple offenses, and he’s been released both times," Kevin said. "The reality is he’s back out and has a history of doing this."
Sadly, it sounds like the Roots will continue to vote for the policies that allow Cooley to keep breaking into people's houses.
"I hope he’s able to get the help he needs," he said. "I don’t think he wants to be doing this with his life. Maybe this is a rock-bottom moment for him."
And maybe you're lucky he wasn't armed, and your family is still alive.
It made me think of something I saw on the X-Twitter's over the weekend. Caleb Hammer, an apolitical financial YouTuber, read about the thug with over twenty priors setting someone on fire and was shocked that he was allowed back on the streets after nineteen priors. Hammer believes that, at the very least, three strikes and you're out. Let alone twenty strikes.
He's being accused of being a right-wing grifter as a result.
Anytime I use internet phrases out loud I wanna punch myself in the face, but it’s “right coded” to be smart with your money and think crime is bad. https://t.co/KcLHshUevc

Thinking that crime is bad and that bad people should stay in jail makes you MAGA now.
Sadly, that thinking works in the blue areas, where there's all the crime.
