You may have come across a social media account where a man named Jimmy Darts tests strangers' honesty by asking them if they dropped some cash. Sometimes, people are dishonest in hopes of pocketing $100. However, sometimes people are honest, even when they are struggling to make ends meet.
Amanda and Cody are one of the honest ones.
Amanda, who was only one month away from homelessness at the time, clarified that she did not drop any money. For her honesty, Darts rewarded the family $500. While in shock, he gave them another $1,000, in hopes it would help them make it through another month.
Even though they have been going through hard times, the son, Cody, still claimed God has been looking out for them, despite his being bullied in school. The internet could not just sit back and let this family struggle, and as of writing this, the fundraiser has raised nearly $200,000. This, combined with the brand-new car Darts gifted the family with, will ensure they do not struggle for the foreseeable future.
“They’ll definitely be able to get moved into a different place and just get debts paid off. Hopefully this can be a life-changing situation,” said Darts, according to KFOR.
"It’s a reminder that kindness still matters."
“Even if they look like they have nothing going on. Everyone has a story,” said Darts.
There is a lot of bad in humanity, but there is also a lot of good. Stories like this are reminders of that when we lose faith in people. Even though the boy was going through a hard time, he never lost faith in the Lord. Stuff like this restores hope and shows that just because you are going through trouble, that does not mean a blessing is not on the way. It is important to remember that.
