As a former retail worker, I have a sense of empathy for what they go through. Granted, I worked in real America where the streets are safe. A lot of the employees we see being harassed by shoplifters work in progressive cities where there is an above average chance they voted for the progressive officials who turned the city into a suckhole. I still don't want to see people in peril for no reason other than not calling in sick that day. So cheers to this CVS employee fighting back.

I'm sure he's been fired after this video went viral. It still must have felt good to land a few punches.

The caption of this video says it is from Chicago and that the other dude was a shoplifter. No one from the Louder with Crowder Dot Com website has been able to ascertain if those claims were independently fact-checked by an independent fact checker. But crime is rampant in Chicago, and criminals love hitting CVS Pharmacies. It's probably true.

Side note, and an example of how horrible corporate mainstream media has gotten. While we, a partisan blog, covered this because it's fun content and an excuse to sh*t on Chicago, Newsweek treated it like a legit news story. They used to make us subscribe to Newsweek in 11th grade US History class. Now we're peers. God bless America!

The journalisming website is right though. This altercation DOES come as the city remains in the grip of a years-long crime wave. Former mayor Lori Lightfoot famously BLAMED small businesses for the crimes being committed against them. Small business owners were forced to flee to the suburbs where they enforce laws. And where when news reporters report on crime, there isn't a thug behind them flashing a gun.

Progressive Chicago residents had enough. A new Mayor was elected. Brandon Johnson.

You know how we like to mock progressive voters replacing progressive officials with other progressive officials, and then don't understand why it isn't safe to leave their homes?

Chicago replaced Lori Lightfoot with a guy who makes her look like Donald Trump.

Let's hope the CVS employee still has his job. I'd hate to be unemployed in this Biden economy.
