Charlottesville Removes Thomas Jefferson's Birthday as Official Holiday
You're probably familiar with the left's push to obliterate every aspect of American history. All the things and people which made this country the bee's knees have got to go, according to stuck-up lefty douchenuggets. If you're thinking I'm off my meds, just have a look at what Charlottesville, Virginia just did to Thomas Jefferson:
With one vote, Charlottesville’s relationship with Thomas Jefferson just turned more complicated.The Virginia city, enveloped in the legacy of the Founding Father, will no longer mark his birthday on April 13 as an official holiday. It will instead celebrate Freedom and Liberation Day on March 3, commemorating when thousands of slaves were emancipated in 1865 after Union forces arrived in the city near the end of the Civil War.
“We like to laud ourselves for the beautiful and great parts of our cities, while not subjecting ourselves to identify the harsh parts and the ugly parts,” said Wes Bellamy, a city councilman who pushed for the holiday change and led an effort to remove Confederate statues.
...And we continue our slip down the slope.
We've been warning all along how lefties' historical revisions wouldn't stop with Confederate statues. Well here we are. Seeing as the left is running out of Robert E. Lee statues to demolish, they're turning their attention to the founding fathers.
These lefties are holding 18th century politicians to 21st century moral standards. How long before this cancer spreads to pop culture. "James Bond is a hyper-masculine, misogynist archetype. He's got to go. The behavior of the Deltas in Animal House is problematic. Do away with it!" You might call me crazy now, but just give it time.
This Thomas Jefferson business is proof the left is hellbent on turning our history to rubble and rebuilding it in their own image. They'll make it sound innocent. "We're only getting rid of the bad stuff." The problem is there's no stopping point. My advice, don't fall for their trickery.
