This seems straight out of a movie!
A woman had not heard from her elderly father in quite some time. So, when the phone calls stopped, she headed over to his home, only to find out that he had passed away, with his former caregiver living in his home.
Horror story in Conway, SC. Woman drives to her father's house after he wouldn't answer the phone.
Discovered he died three days ago and a Black family had already been living in his house for weeks.

I am not here to tell you that the man’s caregiver fooled him into transferring ownership of his home to someone he barely knew, so draw your own conclusions. I will, however, say this is so bizarre it is something you only see in the movies.
According to KBTX:
Nora Rowland says nurse Sarah Smalls began caring for her 75-year-old father, Robert, through Griswold Home Care in March 2024.
According to the daughter, Smalls returned shortly after, and she was hoping to get some answers. But instead, Smalls accused her of breaking in and called police.
Rowland said that when Conway police arrived, to her surprise, Smalls showed officers the deed showing the house in her name and treated Rowland and her partner as the ones trespassing.
She claimed she and her father were very close. They would talk every day, but after not hearing from him in months, she had a strange feeling something was wrong. And well, indeed, it was.
Documents show changes to Robert’s affairs in the months before his death, Rowland said, all without her knowledge.
Records show that in April of this year, Smalls was named as the father’s power of attorney. On April 17, a quitclaim deed transferred his Conway home to her for $5.
She believes her father was taken advantage of. What do you think? Was he just insanely over-generous in his later years to someone he barely knew, while deciding to suddenly leave his daughter with nothing, or is something fishy going on?
Recorded bank statements also showed money transfers from Robert’s account to Smalls, including after he died.
Wow. I did not know deceased people could transfer money. You really learn something new every day, don't you? That being said, who do you believe? Is the story exactly what the former caregiver says it is? Or is something more sinister going on?
