Crime has become a significant issue for progressive officials in progressive cities. Whether or not progressive voters realize this, we'll find out in a month. Crime is a HUGE albatross around leftists' necks. Even Jen Psaki says so. So leftists need new and creative ways to blame anyone but themselves. For St. Louis car thefts, that means blaming the car companies because criminals are stealing cars.

There was TikTok challenge that showed how easy it is to steal Kias. In St. Louis, 23 Kias were being stolen a day. City councilmember Sheena Hamilton wrote a letter to the car company blaming THEM for making their cars so easy to steal (h/t Townhall).

Kia and Hyundai’s defective vehicles have caused a public safety crisis in the city, endangering the health, safety, and peace of all those who live, work or visit the city. Your companies bear the responsibility to mitigate the public nuisance your negligence has created for the city and its residents.

Criminals are causing a public nuisance by stealing your Kia. At least one dingbat on the city council blames the auto manufacturer for manufacturing the autos that criminals are causing a public nuisance by stealing.

In Chicago, the mayor blames small businesses for not doing enough to prevent crimes from being committed against them.

In Minneapolis, the Attorney General presses CHARGES against small businesses for allowing gun crime outside of their small businesses.

And in St. Louis, it is a car company's fault that criminals are stealing cars and getting away with it.

The moral of this story is, don't ever blame your failed policies for the rise in crime. As long as low-information progressive voters continue to vote for the same failed leaders over and over again and not realize why it's unsafe to leave the house, there is no reason for those leaders to do so.
