Kamala Harris tries to explain it's not her fault she thought Pete Buttigieg was too gay to be VP

NEW: Kamala Harris says she couldn’t pick Pete Buttigieg as her running mate because he is gay and there was only 107 days.
Maddow: To say that he couldn't be on the ticket effectively because he was gay, it's hard to hear.
Harris: No no no that's not what I said… with the… pic.twitter.com/sKFGmWsg9G

The reason Kamala Harris chose 'Tampon Tim' as her running mate was supposedly because he enjoys a Diet Mountain Dew now and then. It’s unclear how they thought that would resonate with the average voter in middle America, but I digress. Still, it was puzzling why she didn’t pick Pete Buttigieg—perhaps because he might be planning his next maternity leave—but now, at least, we have some answers… answers that, frankly, nobody seems to care about.
According to Kamala, the reason she didn’t choose Buttigieg was simply because he is gay—at least, that’s what she wrote in her book. This was a tough pill for Rachel Maddow to swallow, given that sexual orientation is usually a reason someone is picked, especially in Democratic circles where such choices are often read as a signal of virtue. When pressed on the issue, Kamala delivered what could only be described as the perfect response: deny it, then repeat exactly the same thing.
She claimed that Buttigieg was too much of a risk. Yet it’s hard to understand how she saw Walz as any less risky, given that his record is not only underwhelming, but he also stood by as Minneapolis burned. But again, I digress.
Clearly, the woman is delusional, as evidenced by her claim that the election was 'the closest presidential election in the 21st century.'
🚨Kamala Harris maintains levels of delusion previously unheard of:
The 2024 election against President Trump “ended up being the closest presidential election in the 21st century.”

Admittedly, there haven’t been that many elections so far this century—after all, we’re only a quarter of the way in—but Bush vs. Gore was much closer. In terms of potential vote flips, 2020 was tighter as well. But she likely has the memory of a goldfish, so once again, I digress.
This kind of mindset is a common outcome of identity politics. Decisions aren’t made based on who is most capable or qualified; instead, they focus on which racial or identity factor offers the most advantage in a given situation. And in this case, it did Kamala zero favors. It’s also somewhat ironic, considering she herself benefited from diversity considerations—but that’s neither here nor there.
2025 is shaping up to be when everyone and their grandmas decided to release the world’s most underwhelming books. I can only wonder why. Still, I have a feeling this one is going to flop. No idea why—just a hunch.
