Brendan Fraiser completing his comeback with an Oscar win for his role in The Whale should be something that unites us all. Everyone normal loves Brendan. But there are those who are accusing him of culturally appropriating their high blood pressure, clogged arteries, and lack of self-control.

In The Whale, Fraiser plays a reclusive, morbidly obese English teacher that attempts to reconnect with his teenage daughter. The rub is the actor isn't morbidly obese in real life. He put on a fatsuit and did what we used to call "acting." It is the studio hiring a skinny actor to play a fat bastard and not hiring a fat bastard actor that is cause for critics to smash their chubby fingers on their keyboard and click "send tweet."

One is whoever runs the Twitter account for Dove soap brand. They demand we STOP giving fatsuits awards. And they want more representation of actual fat f*cks in show business. What this means for selling soap -- other than the fatter you are the more soap you go through when you have someone hose you down -- is unknown.

Then you have...this. A weight-inclusive "doctor" (who of course is a they/he) fighting what she calls weight stigma and fat obsession. This specimen isn't angry at Fraiser alone. But Fraiser and all the thin, white, rich, able-bodied men who made the movie. Who, worse of all, are all cisgender as well. It's important to get all the buzzwords in.

This entire faux controversy is ridiculous. Brendan Fraiser has been "culturally appropriating" his entire career. He appropriated MY culture in his most notable film role, and you don't see me complaining.

Some of you need to let actors act and lay off the cheesecake. Brendan Frasier should be treated as a national treasure. Take this "my high risk of diabetes is not your f*cking prom dress" woke nonsense and stick it up your nose. Along with the oxygen tube you need to move from room to room.
