#BlackLivesMatter Demands Hillary Apologize to Black People...
You have to hand it to Black Lives Matters. While a lot of their protests are silly (see BlackLivesMatter Blasts Library…For Not Segregating Safe Spaces?! and Don Lemon to #BlackLivesMatter: “Grow Up…”) and get in the way of us having serious conversations about serious issues, they are at the very least equal opportunity. Most other leftist activist groups would give Hillary Clinton a pass, just because she's all the left has...
Footage from the event shows Ashley Williams stand behind the former secretary of state and hold up a towel bearing the statement, “we have to bring them to heel,” a remark Clinton made in 1996 in support of the Violent Crime Control Act regarding gang members, who she also described as “super-predators.”After Clinton turns around and reads the sign, Williams tells her, “We want you to apologize for mass incarceration. I am not a ‘super-predator,’ Hillary Clinton. Will you apologize to black people for mass incarceration?”
“Can I talk?” Clinton replies, before continuing her speech as a Secret Service agent attempts to convince Williams to leave.
Event attendees can be heard behind Williams calling her “rude.” However, she continues to press Clinton, telling her, “Please explain it to us. You owe black people an apology.”
As shocking as this may sound, there are words being taken grossly out of context. I know, right? Leftists skewing facts and mincing words? Hope you were sitting down for that revelation.
Now, it’s true that the term “Superpredator” came to have racial connotations, but at the time, it was an accepted bit of pop criminology jargon, so while it wasn’t necessarily a good look for Hillary, she in fact did not “call black people Superpredators.” She didn’t even throw in any extra code-words like “urban” or “inner-city.” She was clearly attempting a narrow use of the term, and as ill-advised as that was, it wasn’t what she’s been accused of since. Her advocacy for the crime bill, which she was fairly obligated to do, has also been overblown. The two examples usually given are small parts of remarks about other issues that are clearly more of a priority to her.
Please don't get us wrong. We're not defending Hillary. We're just LOLing at leftists using her leftist tactics against her. This election cycle has been a grueling test of wills. We'll take our joy wherever we can. In this instance, a #BlackLivesMatter activist giving Hillary her own hashtag #WhichHillary. I love the play on words. I see what you did there BlackLivesMatter. We may not always see eye to eye, but in this instance...
Also, that color pantsuit? No. Stop it, Hillary. Stop it.
