Is Bill Maher preparing to pull a Musk and vote for a Republican in 2024? Definitely not. Or at least there's no such evidence to make that argument. It would be absolutely insane if it were to happen, though! But you know what's not insane? Or who's not insane, rather? Ron DeSantis. That's what Bill Maher says.

It wasn't exactly a full-throated endorsement of America's Governor. I don't think we should be expecting one, either. But on last Friday's episode of "Real Time With Bill Maher," Yahoo! reports, the comedian and self-described liberal went out on a limb to say what no leftist mainstream media talking head would dare to say: Ron DeSantis isn't crazy.

"[DeSantis] is not certifiably insane. [...] You know what Ron DeSantis won't be doing? He won't be poop tweeting every day. He won't be having feuds with Bette Midler on Twitter. He's not an insane person."

As I said, it's not an endorsement, but the fact that so many on the left cannot understand that Governor Ron DeSantis isn't Trump, that he's not a crazy person (not that I'm saying Trump is a crazy person)--the fact that the entire Democratic Party is trying to paint DeSantis as the "ultra-MAGA" anti-Christ makes Maher's comments important. This also isn't the first time Maher has spoken well of DeSantis. Or his policy, rather.

Forgetting my personal position on this topic, DeSantis might be able to reach the moderate Democrats Trump cannot. He won't get the radicals on CNN, but he has at least a chance--the slimmest of slim chances--to get the people like Maher, who at least don't think he's the devil.

The 2024 election is still a ways off, and we have the 2022 midterms to tackle first. That being said, I wonder how far the radical left will push Maher before he finally says, "Screw it! I'm voting for the Florida Man!"
