Arizona Tries to Fix Medicaid. Leftists Lose Their Minds!
Medicaid hurts economies. But don't just take my word for it, listen to what Bernie the balding bozo has to say -- FLASHBACK: Bernie Sanders Says Medicaid-For-All Would Bankrupt America. So simple even socialists get it. Thus it's no wonder Arizona wants to fix the Medicaid mess by proposing some big changes. Changes which have progressives clutching their government-funded pearls. Take a look:
Arizona is seeking to impose work requirements on many of its Medicaid beneficiaries under a new waiver submitted to the Trump administration this week. The waiver would require able-bodied adults between the ages of 19 and 55 — with certain exemptions — to work, attend school or go to employment support and development programs for at least 20 hours a week.
Ridiculous.
Those who fall under the requirements would have six months to meet them before losing coverage, though they could re-enroll after complying. The state is also proposing to impose a five-year lifetime limit on Medicaid for “able-bodied” people.
Work? To get money?
Certain folks of whinish nature didn't take too kindly to Arizona's new idea. Making people contribute to society in order to receive society's assistance? The nerve!
That's just a little taste of the tears.
The point of these changes is to discourage any able-bodied people from leeching off the system (see Four Couples Busted for Collecting Govt Entitlements... While Earning Millions?! and Video: Real Life Welfare Queen Mocks Taxpayers. With Lobster Tails...). It's supposed to minimize the cost of the bill.
Arizona is making a statement here: those who can work should work. Those who can work should be responsible for themselves. Of course, self-responsibility is the antithesis of everything the left stands for. Which is why it's not surprising that when similar attempts were made in the past, the Obama administration struck them down.
Leftists fight against these policies with claims of compassion. But when it comes time to pay for such programs, guess who foots the bill? Taxpayers who had no say in the matter. Ah well, that's collateral damage the left is willing to accept. How compassionate of them.
