Some women would rather carry sex toys instead of guns, because obviously and some kind of reasons. Others would rather carry guns to protect themselves. Say for example, when someone assaults a woman in her own garage...

The woman shot the 45-year-old man, who lives down the street from her, in the upper right chest, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The woman told detectives that the man, whom she did not know, approached her from behind and grabbed her. She then pulled away from his grasp and shot him with a handgun.

The 24-year-old woman has not been arrested or charged in the incident, which took place about 12:35 a.m. in the 100 block of Rosenwald Street, the Sheriff’s Office said.

So, what would've happened if this woman hadn't been able to protect herself? Does this story turn into a story about a woman who got raped in her own home? Or a story where her son or daughter comes home and finds her in the garage, deader than a shot-through-the-head walker (a little Walking Dead reference for you).

Thankfully we'll never know, because this woman didn't pull a punch, she pulled a gun and straight up dropped that dude like a champ.

Guns are the ultimate equalizer. Does that mean everyone should be running around with them without proper training? Of course not, and it's a straw man to claim anyone thinks otherwise. But to say guns should be banned leaves women like this - and way too many like her with similar stories - defenseless. Yes, all women should have the right to defend themselves.

As for the aforementioned protest...
