This past week, Chinese President Xi Jinping visited Vladimir Putin in Moscow where they discussed their plans for the future of the world. Which is a story I feel like should've gotten a tad more attention from US media. But what I'm really intrigued by is how much KFC Xi apparently ordered, because it was an absolutely obscene amount.

At least 18 bags of KFC were delivered to the five-star Soluxe hotel in Moscow, which is where Xi was staying. The recipients of the food are officially unknown, but China's delegation had arrived just prior to the fried chicken delivery.

KFC was apparently one of the first businesses that withdrew from Russia following its invasion of Ukraine, and was sold to a Russian operator who was supposed to rebrand them. But this footage shows the same old Colonel Sanders on the bags, so the rebranding must not have gone well.

It's also interesting to note that, if this was in fact China's fried chicken, they chose one of the most American restaurants available to them. It could be seen as a jab at America, whom they blame for largely everything. Even the virus that escaped from their own lab. But I digress.

The meeting between Putin and Xi seemed to confirm everyone's fears that the United States and Ukraine's escalation of the war would drive Russia closer to China. And the pair reportedly discussed a "new world order", with Xi saying, "Change that hasn’t happened in 100 years is coming, and we are driving this change together".

So that is mildly concerning, to say the least. But at least Xi and his peeps got their KFC fix in before the fall of western civilization. (I'm kidding...mostly.)
