Watch: Andrew Wilson (@paleochristcon, "The Crucible") Joins Crowder To Solve Feminism And Define Gender Roles
Andrew Wilson, a frequent guest on the Whatever podcast and host of The Crucible, sat down for a deep dive into feminism on today’s Ash Wednesday episode. The show broke down his debate style, his take on Hollywood’s woke pop culture, and more.
Wilson often lasers down on questions that get to the fundamental duties of men, despite no one wanting to define what that means for women. Crowder asked if society should deal with the offense of men checking out, which results in things like lower marriage and birth rates, or do we want to leave it alone since many would be offended to "put duties on women."
"Here is what the world really is," Wilson said. "It is a series and sequence of men killing each other over resources and land. That is what every nation and tribe is. Fundamentally, that is what’s really going on — and men intuitively understand this."
Wilson then questions what a woman's duty is.
"What are her duties that are on par with those of men?" Wilson said.
Wilson later discussed his debate style when debating with people. He states there are two ways to go about this: logic and rhetoric.
"People are not that responsive to purely logical arguments," Wilson said. "Rhetoric is very effective."
Wilson added that when people tend to lose in the logical sense, they resort to “low blows.”
“You can make them lose twice, in a sense,” Wilson said. “You can beat them in two domains.”
Gerald A also noted that when people point out truthful things, it offends them because they have “bought into those systems.”
“It challenges their power structure,” Gerald A said.
Wilson also noted that cognitive dissonance is extremely painful.
"Imagine holding a core set of beliefs for 30 years, and in 30 seconds, it collapses because of one point someone makes. You feel like you've been lied to—you feel like an idiot and a fool. So, what do you do? The first thing your ego does is fight back against the worldview," Wilson said.
