Speaking at a hearing regarding “Sanctuary Cities: The Cost of Undermining Law and Order, ” testimony by Jessica Vaughan proves just how much illegal immigration is costing the American taxpayer.
While you struggle to make ends meet, and while many Americans are living paycheck to paycheck, foreign nationals are being awarded welfare benefits, all under the guise of fake leftist compassion.
Per the Center for Immigration Studies:
Today there are 13 states and about 100 localities that have adopted sanctuary policies. We estimate that more than half of the illegal immigrant population resides in sanctuary jurisdictions, with more than one-fifth in California. These policies are a significant hindrance to immigration enforcement and a challenge to the supremacy clause of the Constitution. Equally important, they bring substantial costs to the community – the needless human cost of new victimizations at the hands of criminal aliens released instead of being turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for removal, and the considerable fiscal costs associated with providing services to illegal migrants who are attracted by the policies. Congress should act to preserve the prerogative of law enforcement agencies to cooperate with immigration enforcement, penalize and create liability for jurisdictions that enact laws or practices to obstruct enforcement.
According to Vaughan, illegal immigrants largely benefit from these programs. Over 60% of illegal immigrant-headed households benefit from at least one of these programs, and it is usually more than one. This costs the American taxpayer tens of billions of dollars. This is why she claims, “any resources spent on immigration enforcement actually saves taxpayer money in the long run.”
In other words, there is no benefit for illegal immigration, and the positive outcome from this comes when you deport those who have broken federal immigration laws. But you already knew that, didn't you?
Maybe one day these sanctuary cities will fight for you, but don't hold your breath, as they have proven time and again who they intend to represent — and it certainly is not the American people.
