Leftists want to force mayor to take down "Charlie Kirk Way" sign, but he REFUSES to bend the knee

Mayor Chi Charlie Nguyen is a Vietnamese refugee. He fled communism. He knows what it means when leftists trample on your freedoms -- especially those regarding speech. Anyone who was even remotely aware of what Charlie Kirk stood for knows he stood firmly on the basis that speech and thought ought to be free. He believed the marketplace of ideas did what needed to be done, and the government never had the right to interfere with that.
A California mayor who fled communist Vietnam says he’s not backing down after honoring Charlie Kirk with a street dedication, even as protests erupt over the decision.

All of this is why Nguyen installed an honorary street sign with Charlie Kirk's name near City Hall. This should not be controversial. The left, however, believes this is akin to Facism. Yes. They are that stupid. Nonetheless, the mayor is not backing down, as the logical thing would never be to appease the leftist mob.
According to Fox News:
A California city mayor is defending his city’s decision to install honorary street signs bearing Charlie Kirk's name near City Hall after some liberal residents criticized the move.
Westminster Mayor Chi Charlie Nguyen told Fox News Digital that Americans are "lucky we have the freedom of speech here, and we all have to respect that."
"Nobody should be murdered or assassinated because of promoting freedom of speech," Nguyen said.
The honorary street sign was approved in a 4-1 vote. This means that the people voters elected to represent them thought this was in the best interest of the people. The reason the left has a problem with this is that the only time they approve of democracy is when it affirms their views. Anytime it does not, they believe it is the same thing as Facism. Again, yes, they are that stupid.
Nguyen said the signs were not meant to be political but were intended to celebrate Kirk’s commitment to free speech, a value the mayor said he deeply cherishes as a Vietnam refugee who fled communism.
This should not be controversial. The left, however, has zero real problems. This is why they make things up. They justify their stance by parroting back leftist talking points, despite not having a clue what they are fighting against. This is embarrassing, but to the left, it is just another Friday.
Communism is bad. Freedom of Speech is good. Honoring people who defended that concept, all the way up to his death, is perfectly acceptable. The left is too pathetic to realize that. And unfortunately for them, that is nothing more than a personal problem.
