Well, if there were ever any doubt as to Obama's motives, they've been put to rest. Short of publicly declaring himself a Marxist, Obama's opened the closet door and pranced out proudly in his socialist robe, for all to see. Read for yourself.

Context here is key.

"Society's lottery winners" = wealthy people. Business owners and entrepreneurs.

"modest amount" = more than half. Which is approximately what wealthy Americans pay now when you look at the overall, marginal tax burden.

So in order to improve poverty, we needn't a better economy, more people in the workforce or even job increases here in the United States. We just need wealthy people to pay more than half of their income. Problem solved.
