I'm pretty sure you already know Venezuela is steadfast becoming a cesspool of suckage. Due pretty much entirely to the magical country-killing powers of socialism. If you don't believe me, just have a look at this story.

The Venezuelan military chose to off some citizens. In order to keep them from scoring some food. Yeah, really:

Venezuelan soldiers opened fire on a group of civilians attempting to keep open a segment of the southern border with Brazil for deliveries of humanitarian aid, causing multiple injuries and the first fatalities of a massive opposition operation meant to deliver international relief to this devastated South American country, according to eyewitnesses and community leaders.

The victims: indigenous Venezuelans who have long fought for land rights and had backed the opposition. When the military fired, those present said, they were trying to block the military from carrying out Maduro’s orders to close the border with Brazil to bar humanitarian aid.

Yep, Venezuelan military douchenuggets are willing to pull multiple 1-8-7s in order to keep the peeps from getting their nourishment. Yet another example of the "success" of socialism.

I wish I could say this is surprising. Except the state applying excessive force against its own people is a trademark of socialism. In fact, you might say it's the defining characteristic. The cherry on top of a sucktastic soul-crushing sundae.

This is the endgame of the dreaded S-word. It starts with inflation and shortages. It ends with you raiding the zoo to nosh on grilled zebra and dodging machine-gun fire on the reg. Yet, despite all the evidence of socialism being a colossal clusterf**k, lefties here in the U-S-of-A are still trying to import it.
