Veggie Tales was created for a young audience. This is what made it bizarre that a queer club put on a Veggie Tales-themed drag show, especially considering drag is not for kids. While there is no indication that children were present at the event, the fact that these “queens” mocked Christian programming, especially those for kids, raises more questions than answers.
According to Protestia:
On April 1st, Lore Atlanta, a recently opened queer bar and nightclub venue that regularly hosts drag performances, put on a “VeggieTales Drag Cabaret.”
The show featured drag queens such as “Jacey Rockett” and “Koochie Koochie Ku” dressed up as Larry the Cucumber, Bob the Tomato, Mr Nezzer and Mr. Lunt
The queens danced and lip-synced to the show’s biggest hits and Silly Songs with Larry, including “His Cheeseburger,” “The Hairbrush Song,” “The Rumor Weed,” and “The Bunny Song,” while onlookers threw dollar bills at them.
The show is intended to promote Christian themes, morals, and lessons. So, why would these LGBT performers mock this? We all know they would never do such a thing for productions involving Muslim teachings, so why is it okay for them to do it when it comes to Christianity? Draw your own conclusions.
How can people even watch something like this? The performers are not doing anything impressive, nor are they attractive to look at. The guests even go as far as to tip them, as if they did something significant. Anyone who enjoys such nonsense really needs to engage in deep self-reflection. Not only should this not be classified as entertainment, as it is unclear how anyone can be entertained by such nonsense, but it is downright disgusting.
These people are totally deranged. Not only do they perform in disgusting attire and inappropriate ways, but they do it openly, mocking children's programming. To call this reprehensible would be an understatement.
