Undercover Planned Parenthood Journalists' Case Moves Forward
In a clear abuse of justice, the criminal case against undercover journalists David Daleiden and Sandra Merrit will proceed. Last month an emergency stay was issued by the California Supreme Court after Liberty Counsel, who's representing Sandra Merrit, filed a motion to recuse Xavier Becerra (a Planned Parenthood lackey if ever there was one) based on his extensive and well-documented ass-kissing and ass-kiss receiving support to/from Planned Parenthood. But when billions of dollars are at stake, when an industry profiting from the butchering and then trafficking of unborn baby parts is threatened, justice is thrown out with the bath water.
From Liberty Counsel:
The California Supreme Court previously granted an emergency stay in the criminal proceedings against Sandra Merritt. The preliminary hearings were set to begin in the San Francisco Superior Court; however, the California Supreme Court stopped all criminal proceedings against Sandra until it could review the contents of a motion Liberty Counsel filed to recuse California’s Attorney General Xavier Becerra and his Office from prosecuting the criminal complaint.
You may ask what kind of support did Becerra have from Planned Parenthood. Fair question. How about all of it? Planned Parenthood sends Becerra checks made out for fat stacks because why play fairly when you can just buy support for your mass murdering ways?
Hey, we write commentary here. Pardon me if I think Planned Parenthood and everyone it supports is better suited for hot climates of eternal damnation.
The trial court previously refused to dismiss the criminal charges even though Becerra has a documented bias and has publicly pledged to “stand with Planned Parenthood.” Liberty Counsel sought to recuse Becerra and to dismiss the case for selective, discriminatory prosecution through a motion filed with the trial court, which demonstrated that Becerra and his predecessor, now Senator Kamala Harris, received thousands of dollars in campaign contributions from Planned Parenthood.
Now maybe there's a different term used in the courts, but it seems to me Becerra has a clear conflict of interest. His coat is lined with Planned Parenthood blood money, and he's pursuing charges against two pro-life people who sought to undermine Planned Parenthood via exposing how they turn a profit.
Secondly, the precedent this case could set is horrendous for the First Amendment. Set aside that Merritt and Daleiden investigated Planned Parenthood. They're investigative journalists trying to find the truth. What happens to them will affect what happens to other investigative journalists who seek to expose a scandal in any other industry and/or government.
What we have here is a clear case of corruption, where a billion dollar industry has purchased politicians to do its bidding. In this case, threatening prison time via 15 felony charges for two journalists who dare cross that billion dollar industry. I don't care where you line up on abortion, this is downright scary.
If anyone needs your thoughts and prayers, it's Sandra Merrit and David Daleiden.
