Texas Governor Greg Abbott Praises Trump's Response to Hurricane Harvey
We all remember the high maintenance, storm of a girl known as "Katrina." When it comes to past natural disasters, federal and local government have been less than okie dokie in their response. You know, like that one time: Amid Louisiana Flood, Obama Releases Memo Warning Against... Racism? Priorities. Lucky for Texan Americans, we now have a president who gets things done. With orange flare.
Observe the governor of Texas applauding President Trump's immediate response to Hurricane Harvey.
Anchor: What can you tell us about President Trump's personal engagement in this problem and in managing the response to it?It's been extremely professional, very helpful, he called and said, "Governor, whatever you need, you've got." And this is the quickest turn around I've ever seen from the time that a governor made a disaster declaration to getting that granted.
...Because the president so swiftly granted my application for a disaster declaration it means it triggered all the resources of Fema to help Texas. And what you will see over the coming weeks and months is a tremendous rebuilding from all this damage and a large part of that will be because of FEMA helping out.
If Trump's quck response from afar doesn't add buoyancy to your raft, he's headed to Texas to boost the morality of citizens while the ground is still wet. Moist.
The White House has confirmed President Trump will visit the hurricane-stricken region of Texas this upcoming Tuesday."We are coordinating logistics with state and local officials, and once details are finalized, we will let you know," White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said. "We continue to keep all of those affected in our thoughts and prayers."
Say what you will about Trump, his reaction to this disaster has been swift. Of course, it shan't be long before the cry cannons begin launching their angry accusations. I'm sure they'll cook up a way to blame the hurricane on "Trump's racism" or something (see LOL! 'The Atlantic' Publishes Article Suggesting the Eclipse is Racist and Washington Post Blames Hurricane Harvey on Climate Change).
Kudos to the Trump admin for stepping up to the plate and offering national resources to help out during this tough time. The people of Texas appreciate it.
