Earlier this month, when news of Russian collusion involving Hillary and Obama broke, leftists plugged their ears and whined about a Trump phone call instead.

Now that Mueller is handing out indictments like candy on Hallows' Eve (see JUST IN: Paul Manafort Turns Himself in to the Feds During Mueller Indictment and Former Trump Campaign Aide Pleads 'Guilty' During Mueller Probe), certain Democrats may have assumed they're out of the woods. Therefore putting the "ass" in assume. But things are just starting to get interesting. Enter Tony Podesta. Or, more accurately, exit Tody Podesta.

Yeah, the mighty P is being investigated. So he's jumping ship.

Democratic power lobbyist Tony Podesta, founder of the Podesta group, is stepping down from the firm that bears his name after coming under investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller.

Podesta announced his decision ... Monday morning and is alerting clients of his impending departure.

What makes it even more juicy? The reason why he even came under investigation in the first place.

The investigation into Podesta and his firm grew out of investigators' examination of Manafort's finances. Manafort organized a PR campaign on behalf of a nonprofit called the European Centre for a Modern Ukraine. Podesta Group was one of the several firms that were paid to do work on the PR campaign to promote Ukraine in the U.S.

But I'm sure it's just a happy coincidence that Tony decided to resign on the same day when all this Manafort stuff went down.

This whole Russia investigation isn't going too well for the left (see The Paul Manafort Indictment Is Unsealed... With No Mention of Trump?). Turns out they were right, some people do have lots of Russia connections. Just not the people they'd hoped.

Now watch as the media scrambles to cope with this.
