Every so often, we here at the Louder with Crowder Dot Com website like to check in on the latest JK Rowling vs Harry Potter fan beef. Few stories amuse us more. As someone who never got into the books - I worked in Barnes & Noble when they first came out and could relate to Al Bundy whenever a fat woman came into the shoe store - my frame of reference is Trump v1.0. Rowling was so beloved by the left; slacktivists were claiming different Hogwarts sects to identify how they were resisting.

Then one day in 2019, JK was reading an article about a woman who was fired from her job for using the wrong pronouns and said, "Hey, this seems unfair."

The internet was all like, "Apologize, you transphobe!"

Rowling was all like, "No, I don't think I'm gonna."

And now, seven years later, you have people emotional because Tim Horton's has special Harry Potter donuts. For you 'Mericans who don't know what a Tim Horton is, it's Canada's inferior, smudgy copy of Dunkin'.

They are celebrating something having to do with the books, and the usual suspects are doing what usual suspects do.

Tim Hortons’ partnership with the Harry Potter franchise contributes to the continued visibility and commercial success of a brand associated with a person whose public advocacy has contributed to anti-trans narratives and the rollback of trans rights around the world.

As anti-2SLGBTQI hate continues to rise in Canada, especially for trans and gender diverse communities, campaigns that celebrate the Harry Potter brand can be deeply disappointing, infuriating, and saddening for those who are directly affected by that harm as well as their allies.

I'm sure it's little more than a handful of idiots all expressing the same dumb opinion on the Internets. But as long as serious, government-run media outlets like the CBC are going to take those handful of idiots seriously, we're going to take the opportunity to mock a ridcule them.

Is Rowling a right-winger? No. Much like fellow Brit John Cleese, if you asked her to describe Donald Trump in one word, that word would probably be "fascist." And yet all it takes is slightly diverging from a single issue to be declared an enemy of the state.

Do people really think JK Rowling is getting a cut of every donut sold? She already has enough money from people who now hate her. Every time she sees your outrage on the internets, she goes skinny dipping in a vault of it like she's Scrooge McDuck.

And again, this needs to be repeated: she agrees with the left on every other issue she has ever expressed an opinion on.

Yet Rowling, a feminist, defends one woman in one tweet seven years ago and she's like literal Voldemort or something.

No, I never read the books. But I did watch Dwight on The Office.
