CNN reporter asks Tim Dillon if podcasters have too much political power, didn't expect him to make her look so stupid
Tim Dillon was on Joe Rogan's podcast recently, where he mentioned interviewing with CNN about whether podcasters are the "new" establishment. See, journalismers still don't understand how Trump won and the People Who Controlled Joe Biden lost, so they are blaming it on Trump sitting down with Theo Von and The Undertaker. Dillon told Rogan the whole thing was ridiculous because he talked to CNN for half an hour, so that maybe a minute of which could make air.
Portions of the full interview are finding their way to Cousin Elon's internet, and Dillion undersold just how ridiculous the interview was. Not just the interview, but the entire premise of it... that the 2024 election results are the fault of five podcasters.
NEW: CNN interviewer gets humbled after asking comedian Tim Dillon if podcasts are becoming a "new establishment."
CNN's Elle Reeve: Do you feel like you're part of a new establishment that's being created?
Dillon: "The idea that the power that Theo Von has would be equal to… pic.twitter.com/OEDpHbhO5S

These bars are key:
I can name you very successful left-wing comics who are playing in theaters and arenas and have movies out. And then I can name you ... apparently, there are five podcasters that dominate the whole world. This is a crazy thing. This is every article that's been written since the election. There are five guys now who are the only people in comedy who make money or have audiences.
And it came off the heels of running one of the most unpopular candidates with a platform the American people largely rejected. Yet [Democrats and the media say] these five guys are the reason for this electoral defeat, and not the unpopular policies and this candidate that ran on a platform of "joy."

Do you want to know why the "podcast strategy" was so successful for Trump? It's simple. It's because when he and other Republicans are allowed to speak without being treated like an enemy combatant, the American people like what they have to say. On podcasts, they are able to speak in complete sentences without being interrupted every thirty seconds by a reporter attacking them and/or pushing whatever the Democrat talking points are that week.
How much media energy was invested in calling JD Vance "weird?" Then he was given the opportunity to speak, and you discover he was the most normal out of anyone running.
Podcasts allow Americans to see who a candidate is authentically. As opposed to Kamala Harris, who fed Alex Bennett and Shannon Sharpe talking points so she could hit her marks and bounce. That's why she lost. Well, one of the reasons, besides her unpopular issues and his unpopular personality.
Instead of looking to blame five comedians, most of whom are more left than they aren't until Democrats chased them away, for Republicans winning, the media should start questioning why they and the left suck so bad.
