For some reason, the more California officials spend on homelessness, the worse the problem gets. This story may explain why.

The Department of Justice has announced that it has arrested two out of three individuals tied to a homeless nonprofit fraud scheme, and the allegations are worse than you could have ever imagined.

This is extremely infuriating, as fraudsters continue to scheme against the American people, while officials charged with representing you continue to turn a blind eye while they pretend to care about the homeless industrial complex. But what else is new?

According to AP News:

Three people were charged by federal authorities in Los Angeles on Wednesday with stealing $12 million in federal and state homelessness aid to pay for real estate, luxury trips and vintage vehicles.

If you are surprised by this, you are not paying attention.

It was the second such arrest of people on federal fraud charges in Southern California this week, as President Donald Trump’s administration tries to emphasize a crackdown on fraud and waste in government and aid programs. On Tuesday, 12 people were charged with stealing more than $10 million in federal childcare aid.

The three defendants each worked for or ran Southern California-based nonprofit organizations, which often contracted with city, county, state or federal agencies to provide aid or money to find housing and social services for homeless people. Prosecutors allege that the defendants used funds from those contracts to pay personal expenses, accepted bribes, and billed for services that were never provided.

These are not the first set of housing officials to be charged and accused of fraud, and it certainly will not be the last. The evidence proves that not only do these fake housing NGOs fail to put a dent in the homeless numbers, but they are also fraught with money laundering.

A woman was also dragged out of her house this morning for allegations that she signed up “ghost participants” for people who were not actually homeless but pretended to be, as they took beds from people sleeping on the street.

There should be far more outrage over this. Unclear when the left will realize you can’t pretend to house your way out of a problem that has nothing to do with housing, but I digress. Nonetheless, we don't need any more evidence that the left hates this country, as they continue to turn a blind eye to blatant fraud, while criminals get rich off the taxpayer's dime. Totally unacceptable.
