Prank streamers are the oozing sore on the left buttcheek of the internets. Meta, Twitch, and YouTube make it so that being the oozing sore on the left buttcheek of the internets is profitable, while the target of their "pranks" tries to make an honest living and keep a roof over their families' heads, and otherwise be a net positive to society. If there is a silver lining, at least the target of this "prank" has close to half a million dollars to help his family because, while the internets was a mistake in general, sometimes it does good by people.
Walt Z. is a delivery merchandiser for Red Baron Pizza. The prank was the streamer pretending he had just stolen money from Walt, then videotaping him reacting to it. LOL, amirite?
Walt didn't think so. As you watch this video, keep in mind that the streamers (of the since-deleted account) uploaded this video in August, thinking it was hilarious. It only started to make its way into the discourse this week.
You’re just a little punk ass… No, it’s not a joke to me, okay? I don’t have time for this crap in my life. My life is hard enough as it is, okay? I don’t need this crap. I got kids at home that went to bed without me right now and I was supposed to be at home an hour ago and I’m still out here working and I got to get up at 5:00 in the morning and do 10 more stores. So, this is not a joke to me. ... You’re probably making money off this. I can’t even pay my goddamn mortgage and I got four kids at home. So not funny.
FOUR KIDS AT HOME AND THEY'RE FILMING HIM FOR CLOUT??Harmless content, or picked the wrong guy?A Red Baron rep is stocking a grocery store freezer when a couple of young people with a camera start messing with him. He snaps, then tells them he has to be up at 5 in the morning, he's still out working late, he's got four kids at home and he can't pay his mortgage. If that were my son holding that phone, the video would come down and he'd be finding that man to apologize to his face.Yes, he lost his cool. Calling somebody a punk on camera never helps your case. Now look at what he's carrying. Early mornings, more stores to hit, four kids and a mortgage. And somebody decided his bad day would make good content. There's a guy like him in every grocery store in America, grinding through the shift nobody sees. Turning one of them into the punchline isn't edgy. It's lazy.Leave the working man alone. He's got enough on his plate.

This is a man at his wits' end struggling to support his family, having to dealing with pieces of sh*t who think his struggle is funny. The silver lining is that enough people saw the man's anguish and could relate, and have raised over $450,000 for him.
He’s still here. He’s got a fan club. Including us. https://t.co/7oppfnDUfx

Good for Walt. He sounds like he could use less stress in his life. While the douchebag streams deserve more of it.
Just once, I would like to see the camera turned on the streamers. Their mommies and daddies too. There needs to be more societal consequences and less ad revenue for this type of "content."
