California has been home to a number of great Republican ads this cycle. Of course, it's still California. As long as low-information progressives living on top of each other in two cities continue to be manipulated by social issues to vote against their self-interest, the state will vote Democrat no matter how much the state fails at everything and continues to suck at life. Steven Hilton is still doing his best, and his new ad calls on refugees to return to the state.
No, not THOSE refugees. The American-born Americans who fled California to safer Republican led states where the cost of living is affordable.
They need our help. Now more than ever.Bring the California refugees home. https://t.co/FTLzHFHUJd

It's a different tactic than New York Governor Kathy Hochul, who told anyone to the left of The Zohran to get the hell out of the state and that they didn't belong there. Then, when they took their tax revenue with them, has to beg them to come home.
🚨BREAKING: New York Governor Kathy Hochul is facing BACKLASH after telling Republicans to “jump on a bus and head down to Florida” not long ago. Now, she’s urging wealthy New Yorkers to come back to New York. https://t.co/GzsoUtxHlq

The problem with the ad is that instead of appealing to Californians, the people most receptive to it would be Texans who also would like to see California refugees return to the state. Case in point, this dinkus that Fox News's David Marcus had a kibitz with.
I just had an insane conversation with a guy who moved from California to McKinney, TX because it’s so much cheaper, but is voting Democrat because he wants Texas to have California style public transportation.

In a follow-up post, Marcus said he kept trying to remind the guy that he LEFT California, yet the guy kept claiming California was better. Even though he left California because it wasn't a good place to live. And now, after moving to a better place to live, he wants to turn it into the place he left. This is the logic of the modern left in America.
The problem is the same problem with Spencer Pratt when he ran in the Los Angeles mayoral race. Great candidate. Great messaging. Phenomenal debate performances. And none of it matters because it's f*cking California.
Which sucks. Trust me, I know. I live in New York.
