Stephen Colbert's legion of loyal fans takes to the streets to protest his cancellation. All twelve of them.

The reaction to Stephen Colbert not only being cancelled after causing CBS to lose $40 million a year, but also ending late-night "comedy" as a genre on the network, is funnier than anything Colbert has done in years. Nothing but a bunch of niche elitists nestled in a progressive bubble acting like Colbert is entitled to have a show, along with cries of "democracy" ending over a guy who makes $16 million a year being fired.
However, that is not to say he doesn't have loyal fans from outside the bubble who are diehard fans of Colbert's irrelevant brand of repeating Democrat talking points. They took to the streets demanding his show be reinstated!
Totally unrelated question: have you noticed a lot less liberal protests and a lot smaller crowds ever since Trump shuttered USAID? Or is that just me? It's not like I have a peer-reviewed study independently fact-checked by independent fact checkers to prove a correlation. But... know what I mean?
ΒTo be fair to the legions of Colbertaniacs, their average age is sixty-eight, and it has been dangerously hot as balls in New York City. It was safer for them to stay home and express their displeasure on Bluesky. Had the weather been a little cooler, there may have been two dozen people protesting. Half of which wearing masks. Yes, still, in 2025.
Meanwhile, as silly people insist Colbert got cancelled because he was mean to Trump, South Park had an entire episode roasting him, and they just signed a $1.5 billion dollar deal. As it turns out, you can still make fun of Donald Trump on television.
When you are not only an unfunny douchelord about it but you also cost your employers tens of millions of dollars every year, decisions need to be made.
