Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand questioned Air Force Gen. Alexus Grynkewich over how the U.S. military “reportedly issued a strike against an Iranian school using outdated intelligence.” However, her motive behind the questioning did not appear to be genuine, as she tried to bait Grynkewich into admitting this was a “targeted” operation, which it was not, and she very likely knows that.
In other words, just another Democrat more focused on a gotcha clip than genuine concern over what happened. But what else is new?
She attempted to get the general to call out Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth twice in the clip, trying to get him to blame Hegseth’s oversight, even after he claimed it was best to let the investigation finish its course. He even stated that the military goes to great lengths to minimize civilian casualties, to which she then responded that Hegseth does not agree with him. She had zero evidence for that accusation, aside from the fact that she hates him, which is what makes her questioning all the more pathetic.
Senator Roger Wicker then had no choice but to interject, as her choice of semantics was deeply misleading. He informed her that it was best not to use the term “targeted,” as it implies the U.S. intentionally tried to cause harm to school-aged kids, which could not be further from the truth. She then clarified that she was seeking to find out how the U.S. “chose its target,” which implies she very well knew the school was not targeted.
While Gillibrand desperately tried to assign blame to Hegseth for this terrible accident, she failed miserably, as her desire for answers was not the least bit genuine. And to claim this sums up the left’s fake compassion would be an understatement.
