Thousands of African migrants have reportedly stormed the Spanish border from Morocco, prompting local officials to ask national authorities to declare a nationwide emergency and bring troops in to get hold of the madness.

Does this remind you of something? Not too long ago, this was reminiscent of the situation at the Southern Border. The only difference between then and now is that we actually have a president who likes this country. But what is going on in Spain?

Per ABC News:

Thousands of migrants streamed into the tiny Spanish territory of Ceuta from Morocco on Thursday, prompting local officials to call on Spain to declare a national emergency and send the army to restore the frontier.

The majority of the migrants entered through the port by swimming. Incidentally, this is not the first time something like this has happened. In 2021, 8,000 migrants stormed Spain in two days, which begs the question: What prompts such a massive number of people to storm this small town all at the same time? Well, this month, Spain’s Supreme Court ruled that any migrants found at sea cannot be returned to Morocco. And to claim the migrants are taking advantage of that ruling would be an understatement.

Spain's interior ministry said it would guarantee the safety of citizens and the integrity of the nation's border, but that the government could not declare a national emergency over migration concerns.

Video footage showed crowds of people, mainly Moroccans, walking around the breakwaters at Tarajal beach onto local roads. While the majority appeared to be young men, there were also families with women and children. “Viva España!” some shouted to a freelance photographer working for The Associated Press.

Why does it always seem like the majority of these massive migrant influxes happen to be young men? The consequences are screaming.

Wow. That is quite a lot of families with young children.

Spain’s Interior Ministry is blaming human trafficking networks, claiming these criminals are taking advantage of the Supreme Court ruling. But the fact that anyone can take advantage of the ruling proves how asinine this truly is. If you can predict someone will exploit this newly established rule to attempt to gain entry into the EU, then you know it is foolish. The fact that all of this is preventable makes it all the more infuriating for our Spanish friends.
