Progressives claim that through “permanent supportive housing” we can finally solve the zombie apocalypse taking over many cities run by the left. And that rather than focusing on addressing addiction or mental illness, progressives have implemented permissive policies that subsequently make everyone worse off.

By pretending to have compassion for individuals defecating on the street, progressives tell everyone and their grandmas that all it will take is a hug, welfare, and clean needles that will one day put an end to all this.

Well, it turns out that nothing will clean a progressive area faster than a visit from a communist leader.

One thing many progressive voters probably just learned is that elected officials in San Francisco will do anything to impress China but not the taxpayers who fund everything. But then again, progressive voters don’t really learn much.

Click here for more info. But basically, it did not take much effort to glam up streets ahead of the U.S.-China summit, which included the removal of homeless camps around the city.

So, fixing the homeless situation has nothing to do with a lack of housing?

California Gov. Gavin Newsom admitted San Francisco’s major clean-up effort was done because foreign leaders were coming for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit taking place this week.

"I know folks say, 'Oh, they're just cleaning up this place because all these fancy leaders are coming into town.' That's true because it's true, but it's also true for months and months and months prior to APEC, we've been having conversations.” Newsom said.

So you're telling me that residents had to put up with this crap but it's justified because officials have been talking about it?

Officials somehow managed to clean up the city using existing budgets in just a matter of days. Why couldn't they have done this a long time ago?

But don’t worry, I am sure the homeless encampments will be back in no time.

“For years, Democrats said there was nothing more they could do to clean up cities. They lied. Look how fast they cleaned up San Francisco for a visit by China's leader. The reason Dems ruined West Coast cities is simple: they refuse to arrest addicts who break anti-camping laws,” Michael Shellenberger said in an X post.

It really is sad the fact that officials will do anything for a dictator engaging in extreme human rights abuses on its citizens but won’t do anything for the innocent people who are forced to live in filth every day.

When you see progressives enforcing policies that hurt innocent people, it makes you wonder if they are extremely stupid or extremely evil. At the very least, we now know they can fix it, they just don’t care enough to.
