On Saturday, several UK media outlets accused Russell Brand of sexually assaulting four different women. Today’s show dived right into that story.

Four unnamed women have accused Brand of sexual misconduct from 2006 to 2013. One woman claims Brand raped her, while another alleged victim says Brand sexually assaulted her when she was 16 years old, which is the age of consent in the UK. Another woman claims Brand sexually assaulted her and then threatened her with legal action if she were to talk about the allegation. And a fourth woman says Brand sexually assaulted her and was physically and emotionally abusive.

"When you read the articles, they are mostly about what they claim is 'controlling and bullying behavior' and 'negative sexual experiences.' That is very different from rape. That doesn't mean that it never happened. But right away when I read an article and its 'rape' and then they add 'mental abuse and bullying' I go 'hold on a second. You already said rape. You already hit the punchline. Why would you add something that dilutes it?’" Steven said.

Brand on Saturday posted a video denying allegations of sexual assault, which were reported later by The Sunday Times, and accusing the outlet of engaging in a “coordinated attack” to defame him.

“These allegations pertain to the time when I was working in the mainstream, when I was in the newspapers all the time, when I was in the movies. And as I’ve written about extensively in my books, I was very, very promiscuous. Now, during that time of promiscuity, the relationships I had were absolutely always consensual,” Brand said.

Brand said he believes that because he is competing with mainstream media and ideas, this may be a concerted campaign and agenda to defame him.

"All the accusers are anonymous. There have been no criminal charges, there has been no investigation thus far. Nothing has been sustained at all. The public has not been provided with anything that would show that this is actually real,” Steven said.

We currently live in a culture where there is no accountability and anonymous people can say whatever they want to the media, and the media will run with it if it attacks someone they don’t like.

“There is a cabal of journalists who have decided that if certain people don't have the right point of view, they are to be eliminated,” Steven said.

Brand has been very open about being promiscuous in the past. But he now advocates for people to learn from his mistakes and has repeatedly said how it is bad to sleep around.

But of course the allegations come over a decade after all that, and not at the time they supposedly happened.
