Meet U.S. attorney Billy Williams. No, there's no relation to the guy who played Lando. Oregon is his domain, where the city of Portland has been ground zero for what some are calling peaceful protests. Those of us with functioning brain cells call them riots (see 'PEACEFUL PROTESTER' IN PORTLAND ACCIDENTALLY SET ANOTHER 'PEACEFUL PROTESTER' ON FIRE and SINGLE MOTHER IN PORTLAND WANTS YOU TO KNOW HOW SLEEP-DEPRIVED SHE IS FROM ALL THAT PROTESTING). Williams met with the press and for ten minutes swatted down every pro-riot talking point reporters tried pushing. It's an impressive piece of business. Go pour yourself a little tequila, sit back in your chair, and enjoy.

"These aren't late night demonstrations," he insisted. "This is criminal activity. There's a difference. What you have failed and the media have failed to distinguish between, you seem unwilling to call people engaged in criminal conduct, as criminals, as opposed to lawful protesting." ...

"You're using 'late night activity.' It sounds like a party. It's criminal. Look at the debris. We haven't had a front door since July 3. That's criminal, OK?"

And another thing...

This brought a tear to my eye. No name-calling. No screaming. He wasn't concerned with putting on a performance that would play on Twitter. He dropped facts. The media pushed narratives. He told them to stop being retarded without actually saying so and went back to dropping facts without letting himself get distracted by reporter silliness.

I'm not sure where Williams is politically, but he at the very least doesn't sound like a leftist here. If the Oregon GOP (if there even still is an Oregon GOP) hasn't started recruiting him to run for office, they need to.
