Parents Defending Education, an organization working to get progressive activism and indoctrination out of this school system, has filed a federal complaint against Portland Public Schools because of racial discrimination.

According to the complaint, the organization alleges that “Portland Teachers will take Gender identity, Race into Account before Disciplining.”

And that, my friends, is a perfect example of what we call the “soft bigotry of low expectations.”

Portland Public Schools is disciplining some students and not others, solely based on immutable characteristics.
The new policy states the plan “must take into consideration the impact of issues related to the student’s trauma, race, gender identity/presentation, sexual orientation, disability, social emotional learning, and restorative justice as appropriate for the student”

This race- and gender identity-specific framework applies even to the most serious incidents, such as “Threat/Causing Fear of Harm” and “possession of a firearm”

Disciplinary procedures should be the same for all and it’s baffling that progressives think that insignificant characteristics like race should be taken into consideration. That’s not how the law works.

To excuse an entire race or group of people because of the belief that they cannot be held to the same standards as the general population, based solely on insignificant traits, is the most racist and bigoted thing one can do. These people are literally implying that another group is inferior and should be given some sort of academic break as a form of compensation for being born into a fake victim class that does not even exist.

Trying to artificially force any system to be “fair” only reinforces a negative self-image by the students of that group, and increases their dependence on the “equitable” programs supposedly meant to make them self-reliant.

It’s incredibly passive-aggressive that Portland progressives believe that a group of people cannot compete or achieve a certain level of excellence. They expect little ability from other groups because of their race. That is the most racist thing I have ever heard.

Nothing about this discipline policy is compassionate. None of it is fair. But all of it is evil.

Although this policy is abhorrent and should be totally condemned, I doubt any of us are surprised since we all know that if the left didn't have double standards, they would have no standards at all.
