WOW — LA Resident who lost home in Palisades fire says that this arrest isn't ENOUGH.
"The real people responsible is the government behind the infrastructure that failed an entire town. When you have 7,000 homes destroyed, you cannot blame that one one man."

As you may recall, Los Angeles nearly burned to the ground in a fire that many would argue was preventable. Now, while the DOJ has announced the arrest of the man allegedly responsible for starting the blaze, don’t forget that it was sheer government incompetence that allowed 7,000 homes to be destroyed.
It was the government that failed to prepare for extreme fire danger. It was the government that didn’t maintain reservoirs. It was the government that didn’t deploy fire trucks in the first crucial hours. That was the government—whose sole job is to protect public safety and maintain infrastructure—and they failed thousands of Angelenos.
So, when they try to blame arson as an excuse to avoid accountability, make no mistake: the government must be held responsible for its catastrophic failures.
🚨BREAKING: DOJ announces the arrest of a 29-year-old man suspected of starting the Palisades fire earlier this year.
The fire killed 12 people, destroyed more than 6,800 homes and businesses, and damaged over 1,000 other buildings.

That is not to say this man should not be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law—because he absolutely should. Nonetheless, no amount of legal justice can ever undo the damage he caused. While the government deserves relentless criticism for creating the conditions that made this disaster inevitable, it was he who ignited the flames. For that, he must face every legal consequence and be condemned by every mechanism of justice available.
That being said, as one LA resident put it, it was “the government behind the infrastructure that failed an entire town. When you have 7,000 homes destroyed, you cannot blame just one man.” There is no better way to sum it up. While Los Angeles officials will likely try to use this arrest as a scapegoat, the reality is that it was their failure—and anyone with even a slightly better memory than a goldfish knows it. The sooner they admit it, the safer Angelenos will be. Until then, don’t expect anyone responsible for these catastrophic failures to hold themselves accountable in even the slightest way.
