My heart and your hearts are breaking. Our favorite UN Ambassador, or perhaps our favorite person in the Trump administration, if not in all politics, is resigning from her position at the UN. Nikki Haley sat down with Trump to tell us why.
So no real reasons are given, but it does sound like she’s had her fill of political shite. She’s already been governor, then she had to deal with the nasty mobsters at the UN, whom she dealt with great aplomb, and now she’s ready for something not so dicey. I get it.
There’s constant speculation from political Twitter as to what Nikki Haley may do next. But here’s another idea, and maybe it’s just as likely as any theory postulated by internet bobbleheads: maybe Nikki Haley really is term-limiting herself just as she said. Maybe she’s done her service in government and is ready to move on. Government isn’t supposed to be a life-long career for most positions, aside from Supreme Court Justices. So maybe she’s doing herself, and the country, a solid by leading by example: she served her country, and now she’s done. Paging Chuck Schumer and Dianne Feinstein.
Regardless, Haley will be sorely missed. We love us some Nikki Haley smackdowns. Whatever Nikki Haley does next, she’ll probably kill it. Best of luck, Ambassador Haley.
