Poll Shows Majority of Americans Oppose Protesting the Anthem...
Hi there. Do you oppose protesting the American flag and our national anthem (see Top 5 Badass Responses to NFL’s #TakeTheKnee Anthem Protests and Surprise! Football Fans Demand Refunds for ‘NFL Sunday Ticket’. And Get Them)? Well, guess what? You are the 52%!
Overall, Democrats are approving of the protests, Republicans overwhelmingly disapprove. Independents mostly disapprove.
Also, shockingly unshocking is this is divided on partisan lines. The supporters of these anti-American asshat players are almost exclusively on the left. I would have never guessed that. Also, disapproving of the protest doesn't necessarily mean support of Donald Trump's comments about them.
I'd even throw myself into that category, what with the whole First Amendment issues brought up when the leader of the free world comments on things like this. But, that still doesn't mean the knee-taking players aren't douchey pee-holes who hate America. They've more than earned that distinction.
More than anything, these numbers show how sick and tired Americans are of having every nook and cranny of their lives politicized. Your average football fan just wants to nosh on some buffalo wings, pound a brew, and watch Tom Brady pick up his sixth ring. The last thing they want to do is listen to spoiled leftist athletes whine about imaginary injustices.
When 52% of Americans oppose protesting while 117% of the NFL and mainstream media have gone all in on pandering to leftists, it's easy to see why jerseys get burned en masse. It's game day yet again, after a week of furious football-lovers fuming after last week's craptastic show of disrespect. I guess we'll know in a few hours if the NFL's learned its lesson or not.
