'Please Arrest Him, Lock Him Up:’ Ohio Mom Says She Turns In Son For Car Theft But Police Keep Releasing Him
Tiffany Hammons, who is a mom from Ohio, has been begging police to stop releasing her son for alleged car thefts after she has turned him in several times.
Hammons told WBNS-TV that her 17-year-old son won't stop stealing cars, and she thinks Columbus police aren't doing enough to stop him.

"I've been begging and pleading — please arrest him, lock him up, do something that's going to make him pay for the things that he's out here doing," she said.
She said police keep bringing her son home when he has been caught stealing or crashing a stolen vehicle.
Due to the fact that he is 17, and keeps committing the same crime, he definitely needs to be transferred to adult court. Juveniles often get a forgiveness and redemption approach when it comes to crime. But this guy is obviously beyond forgiveness.
"I think him seeing that nothing is being done is giving him more of an adrenaline rush to go back out and do it again,” Hammons said.
Wow. So him knowing that he can get away with crime, fuels him to commit even more crime. Shocker.
She added, "Since he's left, that I know of, he's crashed five cars. And I reported each and every one that I know of, and he's still out there.”
According to the outlet, between January and August of this year, 7,330 cars have been stolen in Columbus and a little more than half of them have been Kias and Hyundais.
Hammons fears the threat her son poses to himself and others, she said. And that she doesn't know what else to do.
"We're trying, but once they're here and they leave again, then what? What are we supposed to do?" Hammons said.
How many chances does this kid get?
Well, no surprise but the juvenile judge is a progressive who said ‘equity’ is her top priority.
Because for her, getting to the “root of the issue” is what matters most.
"Understanding that times are changing, that trends are changing, so for us to be proactive, and not responsive when things happen," she said.
This woman really thinks that by not responding to crimes, that will solve crime.
Just because he is 17, does not mean we should treat him like a child. Even young children know not to act like that.
Apparently, teen car theft is a major problem in Columbus.
Any what do progressives do to solve the problem? Well, it is not going after criminals.
They are spending their time filing a lawsuit against against Kia and Hyundai over the soaring rates of vehicle thefts since January 2022.
Right, because it is the cars fault. Not the fault of the thugs stealing them.
“The taxpayer cost of Kia and Hyundai’s negligence continues to rise as local law enforcement diverts limited resources to investigate thefts, respond to crimes and assess property destruction,” Columbus City Attorney Zach Klein said in a statement. “It’s time we held these automakers accountable for cheating consumers and passing the buck and responsibility to clean up the mess they made onto the rest of us.”
What a clown show. They are really blaming the actual cars. Typical progressive thinking, which is actually not thinking at all.
Well, what do you expect when you elected someone who tries to get to the 'root cause' rather than prosecuting crime?
