Watch: Libs of TikTok Exclusive Interview, "My Whole Twitter Account Was Demonetized"
Twitter is the “Free Speech” breaking news platform, however, Libs of TikTok has some exclusive information that'll shock you.
Today’s show gets right into that.
Free speech is something that is very unique to the United States. Not even our neighbors in Canada have it.
Elon Musk has accused Justin Trudeau of crushing free speech in the country after Canada mandated that online streaming services with $10 million or more in annual revenue will have to formally register with the government for regulatory oversight.
This is the same guy who froze the bank accounts of truckers who were protesting lockdowns.
"This guy gets a thrill at removing your civil rights,” Crowder said.
Chaya Raichik, who operates Libs of TikTok, has put into question how free of a platform Twitter really is.
Raichik tried to post a video on X that showed Burbank Mayor Konstantine Anthony being spanked by a drag queen at a fundraiser where children as young as 15 were present.
Raichik’s Libs of TikTok account was subsequently demonetized.
She tested posting certain words that proved to be demonetized but when she tested it on her personal account, it was not.
Raichik said this was subsequently triggered by posting the video of Anthony getting spanked.
"It turned out that the word 'Drag Queen' was demonetized," she said.
This led her to test out posting different words.
"After I discovered it on my own, I was told that the word 'Drag Queen' is demonetized,"
X has since fixed it so the word ‘Drag Queen’ does not get you demonetized.
"They fix that one [word] so what is going to have to happen is you are going to have to find all of the other words and then they will say 'Oh, we will fix it,'" Crowder said.
Raichik is confident that Musk is trying his best and that her investigation ‘opened a can of worms.’
"But your whole account was demonetized," Crowder responded.
"I don't think it is a word, it is my account status. So that is a separate issue," she said.
It might be that Musk has good attention, but other people behind the scenes do not.
"His entire pitch to creators is to come here and make money. If he is not monetizing an account that has 2.5 million followers and has incredible reach, then what is the point?" Gerald A said.
When X established a way for people to monetize off of X, a process had to be established.
"The idea of demonetized words, that would by its very nature, have to be a new thing since Elon has been there," Crowder said. He added, “A journalist shouldn’t have to blow the whistle on journalists being suppressed for them to no longer be suppressed.”
Use the hashtag #TwitterWordTest to see if certain words are allowed on the ‘free speech’ platform.
