It's Monday. As you celebrate or cry over the NFL wild card rounds and catch up to see where the left and the media (but I repeat myself) have moved the Renee Good goalposts now (she was "making a three-point turn?"), here's more low-hanging fruit from Taylor Sheridan's "Landman." This week, we have fun at the expense of woke college students with a they/them that, ironically enough, is from Minneapolis.
Billy Bob Thornton plays a vice president of an oil company, aka the "landman" in question. His daughter, Ainsely, starts college, where she meets her roommate, Paigyn. Yes, "Paigyn" couldn't even spell Pagan the proper way. And if you think that's not over the top yet, "Paigyn" is also vegan, uses they/them pronouns (obviously), hates men (of course), and fails the eyeball test when you first look at they/them.
Though my favorite? Hating the word "penetrate" because it reminds *sigh* "they/them" of the patriarchy.

(Side note: Thank God for the SafeSearch feature when I Googled looking for this .gif).
One of these days, I'll get around to actually watching Landman myself and not just bite off of Whiskey Riff. I loved Yellowstone, and I already love the soundtrack, which gets new songs added every week. Shouts to Drayton Farley's "Touch and Go."
Sheridan's shows are sometimes what the streets call "MAGA-coded." Meaning, even though Taylor himself is a lib, there is occasionally dialogue that doesn't validate the leftist worldview, and leftists and the media (but I repeat myself) don't think anyone should be allowed a platform to do that.
[Solve for x]-coded is the fresh, new, very online progressive slang. And, yes, it still makes me want to punch myself in the face when I use internet lingo in regular conversation. It's also only a matter of time before the media starts calling Avengers: Doomsday "MAGA-coded" because it appears to highlight fatherhood and because of the belief that the Russo Brothers are sh*tting on any of the "diversity" that came out after Endgame, but that's a blog post for a different time.
The jury is out over how much media attention this will get. The media HATES it whenever a TV show spends more than 30 seconds expressing an opposing viewpoint. Throw in that "Paigyn" is from Mogadishu... I mean, Minneapolis, methinks there are a number of PR firms not answering their phones when the journalismers start calling.
