Jewish man killed by pro-Hamas protestor, sheriff has 'not ruled out' it being a hate crime. Yet. It's Los Angeles.
An elderly Jewish man was killed when a pro-Israel protest and a pro-Hamas protest clashed on the streets of Los Angeles. Police announced the incident is being investigated as a homicide. Don't tell NBC News that, though. Similar to when an SUV murdered people attending a Christmas parade in Wisconsin, or...
The incident occurred Sunday in the LA suburb of Thousand Oaks. Paul Kessler, protesting in support of Israel's right of self-defense, was struck in the head by an unidentified protestor supporting Hamas' October 7th terror attack against Israel. The later protests are covered in the media as "Pro-Palestine." After Kessler was struck in the head by the pro-Hamas protester, the elderly man fell to the ground and hit his head on the pavement.
In a statement from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department, they "determined the cause of death to be blunt force head injury and the manner of death homicide."
Also, in a statement, "The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident and has not ruled out the possibility of a hate crime."
If we are to believe hate crimes are a thing, a person protesting against Jews attacking and murdering someone who identified himself as a Jew sounds like it would be a no-brainer. Though, as we said, this is Los Angeles. There is a tendency to favor the criminal in criminal cases in the name of equity when it comes to the California penal system.
There has been an increasing number of antisemitic incidents across America after the October 7th Hamas terror attack. So much so, Joe Biden and his White House have been laser-focused on combating the Islamophobia that might occur from people criticizing the people responsible for the antisemitism.
Critics and political observers view the White House's focus on Islamophobia as having to do with Joe Biden's faltering reelection campaign and Muslim voters threatening not to vote for him in 2024. Even with his added focus on Islamophobia, he is still being accused of genocide by those voters.
The White House has not responded to the homicide investigation in Los Angeles as of yet.
