Over the weekend in Jacksonville, a lunatic with a heart full of hate killed three people based on the color of their skin before turning his gun on himself. Unrelated to any of this, Jacksonville is in Florida and the Florida governor is both pro-gun rights and anti-woke. In a perfect world, we could end with the lunatic burning in hell. But I'm sure by now you know what happened next, and before the bodies were cold.

One person who is, at the very least, not playing the gun control nonsense is Jacksonville Sheriff T.K. Waters. I'm sure the Left and the media (but I repeat myself) were excited to see he was the sheriff when news broke. They probably feel less so after what he said about the weapon used.

"The story is always about guns. People are bad. This guy's a bad guy. If I could take my gun off right now and I lay it on this counter, nothing will happen. It'll sit there. But as soon as a wicked person grabs ahold of that handgun and starts shooting people with it, there's the problem. The problem is the individual."

Florida lawmen are notoriously supportive of Second Amendment rights as a means of self-defense. And they don't back down from that when a gun is a tool used in a crime. Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods went viral echoing similar after three teens were killed, one of the suspects was as young as 12 years old. You may not have heard about the incident. It didn't fit certain media narratives.

"All the gun laws we got in place didn't prevent it, did it? Neither will any new ones. Because here's the fact: the bad guy's gonna get a gun no matter what law you put in place."

In Jacksonville, you can guess how the rest of the week is going to play out. Only unlike the last time when he sent his sidekick, Joe Biden will make the trip to Jacksonville himself. He has a tragedy to politicize.
