By the time you are reading this, the Democrats have voted at least 12 times to keep the government shut down. And all 12 of those times, they knew Americans would go hungry. They knew, but they don’t care, so long as foreign nationals end up with free healthcare and special rights that the American people are not afforded.

Democrat Ohio Rep. Emilia Sykes admitted Americans will suffer and go hungry. So, then it begs the question: why did she vote to essentially keep them hungry? Why not do everything in her power to open the government back up so Americans stop suffering? If I didn’t know any better, I might say it’s because she could not care less about any of that — but I do know better, so I certainly will not be saying this.

According to Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, “innocent Americans are suffering” because of the shutdown and “more than 500,000 civilian federal employees will miss a full paycheck tomorrow." And when you consider that a good chunk of Americans live paycheck to paycheck, this is a very, very bad thing.

So if the Democrats cared about any of that, they would stop playing games and, for once, do a thing or two for the American people. But as Sykes said, Americans will “suffer,” and according to the left, it’s the sacrifice you need to make, as they keep Americans as de facto political hostages in their game.

But they’re fooling no one. People see right through them, and they are doing themselves zero favors by continuing this charade.

Someone should really, really inform the left that their job is to represent Americans, because at this point, they are acting like their job is to fight for everyone but you. But what else is new?
