In the Progressive pursuit to make “Latinx girlies feel included in the Holocaust,” whatever that even means, a new musical is underway that turns Anne Frank into a “pansexual Latina” with a “non-binary lover” and “neurodiverse family.”

There are so many things wrong with this, it is unclear where to begin.

According to the Daily Mail:

A new musical in New York City has ignited fierce backlash for reimagining Holocaust victim Anne Frank as a pansexual Latina hiding from the Nazi occupation with her neurodiverse family and a non-binary love interest.

Why? Why does this need to exist? Phrases like “pansexual” and “neurodiverse” were not even things back then. None of this even makes sense.

According to the interweb, pansexual is when someone is “sexually or romantically attracted to people regardless of their sex or gender.” And neurodiverse is “characterized by autistic or other neurologically atypical patterns of thought or behavior.”

The whole premise of Anne Frank being in hiding is that she is Jewish. That is why she was targeted. It had nothing to do with her romantic interest or personality traits, and it’s actually disrespectful to the victims of the holocaust, considering these are preferences and malleable characteristics, while being Jewish is not.

The production, titled Slam Frank, is a satirical play that exaggerates current cultural trends around inclusivity and identity politics, applying them to one of history's most tragic stories to critique how performative 'wokeness' can distort storytelling.

Someone should really inform the producers that you can “critique how performative 'wokeness' can distort storytelling” through so many other ways. Not only was this unnecessary, but it's deranged.

The show began as a viral Instagram parody by Jewish composer Andrew Fox, who joked about creating a production to make 'Latinx girlies feel included in the Holocaust.'

The video spawned a full production built around a play-within-a-play conceit: a fictional theatre troupe trying to 'decolonize' Anne Frank's story.

From there, the humor spirals into absurdity as characters discover new marginalized identities in musical numbers, swap yellow stars for pronoun pins, and even commune with ancestors lost at border crossings.

It is unclear what exactly this was intended to raise awareness of, but I think the entire world would have survived without these new “marginalized characters.”

Who would have thought that the left could out-victimize themselves? These people want to be victims so badly that they have interjected themselves in the most infamous attempted genocides, despite these character traits not being real at the time. They had nothing to do with it, so they decided to make it about themselves. No one thought this level of delusion was possible, but never underestimate the extent to which victim culture will go to make things about them.

That being said, if this is not cultural appropriation, then nothing is.
