Paging BlackLivesMatter: Cop Lets Violent Suspect Walk. Because of His Race...
When it comes to cops and racism, Black Lives Matter has no shortage of sputtering accusations. But the group seems to be rather mum on this instance of blatant racism, where a policeman let a violent suspect walk free simply because of his melanin. Here be the details.
A sergeant with a history of accusing the department of racist policing is now under internal NYPD investigation -- for allegedly giving a domestic violence suspect a slide for being black.
"Brother, we have to stop putting people like you and me in jail -- don't make me regret this," Sgt. Edwin Raymond allegedly told the suspect in quashing an arrest in Brooklyn last month.
Raymond and other officers from Brooklyn's Police Service Area 2 had been called to Brownsville Houses on Sept. 10, after a woman reported her ex was lurking around outside her building, despite an order of protection.
Cops approached the man for questioning and confirmed through their smartphones that he had an active protection order. Then Raymond allegedly cut him loose and put it over the radio as "No crime."
Not long after his release, the suspect continued harassing the woman and threatened to kill her. This is the part where we feign surprise.
Of course, if this situation included men a few shades lighter we wouldn't hear the end of it. Shaun King would even cancel his weekly spray tan to protest such "institutional racism." But fret not, he'll let this one slide because obviously.
This is the sort of hypocrisy that stirs us to laugh at Black Lives Matter and their silly rioting. While they desperately fabricate racism and hate crimes (see BLM Caught Red-Handed Fabricating 'Hate Crime' Story With Suicide Photos), actual racism goes unchecked. Like this.
Not that we're surprised...
