With Martin Luther King Day approaching, many folks are preparing to honor the man's legacy. Though, this university thinks the traditional methods of remembrance aren't good enough. So, they're honoring Dr. King by having a "gender identity teach-in." Yeah, not joking.

Illinois Wesleyan University is planning to mark Martin Luther King, Jr. day with a gender identity "teach-in."

The Jan. 21 event at the United Methodist Church-affiliated university will feature two speakers. Charlene Carruthers, whose website describes her as a "black, queer feminist community organizer," will deliver the keynote for the famed civil rights activist and former Baptist minister. LGBT activist Dave Bentlin, president of Prairie Pride Coalition, is also slated to speak.

The afternoon-long event will conclude with a "session on gender identity and human rights" which will be led by the IWU Pride Alliance. The theme of the event, according to a university news release, is gender and social justice.

Good lord.

I have a dream that one day leftist turdlets will manage to not be a pack of mindless dickweeds. Even if only for the occasional day or two. Yet, I fear this simple request may be asking for too much. The left is too enamored with their lack of gray matter.

Martin Luther the King didn't die for his cause to have his sacrifice culturally-appropriated by a bunch of intersectional douchenuggets. The whole "content of their character" part of his "Dream" speech was specifically against identity politics. The same identity politics these university butt-dumplings are preparing to push in his name.

Intersectionality makes no sense. Yeah, I said it. Civil rights for African Americans was a real, worthwhile fight. It has zilch in common with confused lefties who wish they had an in-ny instead of their out-ty. Alas, lefties will always find a way to take a dump on everything people hold dear.
