CNN Analyst: Women Can’t Conceal Carry Because They Wear Dresses
There's a Dave Chappelle sketch from back in the day. He said sometimes you hear something that's so racist, you don't even get mad. You're just like, "Wow... that was racist." The sketch has been in the back of my mind as I read some hot takes against women having guns. Apparently, it's problematic the way the NRA encourages women to be trained and responsible gun owners. Better leave that to the menfolk. For some on the left, women should only care about issues concerning that which enter or exit their lady bits.
This clip from CNN analyst Tom Fuentes though!
For a woman, where are you going to hide that gun during the day?If you wear a dress, if you wear a skirt, are you going to have to wear a jacket everyday with a belt and a holster, the way a detective on duty would do. It's not a real practical solution for a variety of reasons.
Plus if they were home making me a sandwich, they wouldn't need a gun in the first place. AMIRITE FELLAS?
Shockingly, #YesAllWomen manage to find a way to get themselves dolled up and still be strapped (see FEMINIST WIN! More Women Are Buying Guns. Now One in Five Ladies. and Gun-Toting Female Shop Clerk: "We Are Not Going to Be Victims"). I admittedly am not up on female fashion. Or any fashion for that matter. I basically own more t-shirts than you gals have shoes. So allow me to quote a friend. It's always about the accessories:
All depends on the type of holster and type of gun you want to carry. I personally have a holster that uses an ulticlip which doesn’t require a belt but there are so many options for ladies wanting to carry no matter what outfit they have on.
If there's a better argument against teacher's carrying, it probably isn't, "Oh my God, did you see what Miss Rockbottom was wearing!" Not least of all because it's kind of sexist. Removed the "kind of."
Which is the problem with Tom Fuentes here. Not only is he "mansplaining" why women can't carry guns (their dresses, OMG!), he's also assuming all ladies wear dresses. Incorrect.
Of course, media fools relying on just their opinions, ignorant as they are, is a standard operating procedure. If media lackeys actually engaged in research, or like, observed people, they'd know the difference between automatic and semi-automatic weapons. "Clips" and "magazines." Cartridges and bullets. Their thoughts and sharts.
Alas.
