To claim the Canadian healthcare system is inferior to the United States would be putting it lightly. It is not uncommon to wait a long time to see a specialist. This is disastrous when you take into consideration cancers that progress at a rapid rate. However, we have gotten to the point where rather than cure or treat disease, some providers are recommending patients give up altogether and consider the nation’s euthanasia program as a form of “treatment.”

A Canadian couple is thriving after moving to the United States. Medical providers informed them that the only option for a woman diagnosed with stage-four cancer was euthanasia. Those doctors were wrong.

Per a recent Instagram post from escapingcanada:

Three years ago, Canada’s healthcare system left my wife for dead. She fled Canada for her life, returned home to the United States, and I immigrated with her.

Today, on the third anniversary of her diagnosis—and now in her third remission after receiving the American medical care that gave her a fighting chance—she hiked to one of the highest mountain peaks in Big Bend National Park.

Three years ago, Canada’s healthcare system had effectively given up on her. Today, she’s climbing mountains in Texas!!

Had she gone with the Canadian recommendation, she may not be here today. The fact that the country even calls its system “healthcare” is some sick joke. Medical care was never intended to prioritize death. It is unclear if this is sheer incompetence resulting from a massive backlog of patients or if these medical professionals are really that evil, so draw your own conclusions. Unfortunately, though, not everyone has the means to get treatment in the United States. This is what makes it all the more infuriating.

This is not the first story like this and sadly won't be the last.

An 83-year-old woman named Miriam Lancaster spoke out earlier this year after she visited an emergency room for excruciating foot pain.

Per City News Everywhere:

Paramedics rushed Lancaster to Vancouver General Hospital, but when she arrived, she claims the initial treatment offered to her by a young doctor came as a shock.

“The admitting staff in the ER had whistled me into a bed, and she was the first medical person questioning me, and that’s where it all started,” said Lancaster.

She says the doctor began asking about medical assistance in dying (MAID).

“And I thought MAID? Good heavens, surely not MAID. And I wouldn’t take MAID under any circumstances.”

It is unclear if this is common in emergency rooms in Canada, but the fact that this is even a possibility is a problem. Human life is valuable. Medicine was never about promoting death. The fact that this even needs to be said is a scandal. What a total disgrace.
