SCOTUS Strikes Down Trump's Birthright Citizenship EO, But Congress Can Fix It If They Have The Guts

SCOTUS has struck down President Donald Trump’s executive order barring birthright citizenship. Subsequently, children born in the United States, regardless of the status of their parents, will be granted citizenship. Today’s show breaks it down.
“This is one of those things, where there are some judges here who know they may be incorrect but that this is a bridge too far,” Crowder said. “They understand that if they recognize birthright citizenship, as it was originally intended, that unravels a whole lot and the Democratic machine would inevitably become violent.”
Per Fox News:
The Supreme Court on Tuesday rejected President Donald Trump's bid to restrict birthright citizenship, preserving the long-standing constitutional interpretation that most children born in the United States are automatically U.S. citizens, including children born to parents who are unlawfully or temporarily present in the country.
"Children born in the United States to parents unlawfully or temporarily present are 'subject to the jurisdiction' of the United States and are citizens at birth under the Fourteenth Amendment's Citizenship Clause," the court said. "The Framers of the Fourteenth Amendment extended that promise to 'every free-born person in this land.' We keep that promise today."
“This is a case involving President Trump,” Crowder said. “He has done everything that he can through executive order, including sealing up the border. He cannot do all of it, so recognize those who are stonewalling, the useless Republicans versus the man who is cited in this case.”
The Supreme Court ruled 5-4 to affirm a district court ruling blocking Trump's executive order, with Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Amy Coney Barrett joining the court's three liberal justices. The court found that a person's citizenship status is not dependent on their parents', citing the 14th Amendment. Roberts wrote that the Court's 1898 ruling in Wong Kim Ark had settled the issue.
“Who has an ‘R’ next to their name and isn't going to get it done? Those are the people you need to target politically," Crowder said.
Can you name one president who has pushed back against the left as much as Trump?
“Name me one president who has pushed back the way that this president has,” Crowder said.
